“A challenging,
innovative place
where students develop skills for work, life and study”

Leadership Program

Leadership development in the Senior School of Pacific Hills consists of three important and related elements: training, service, and mission. Training helps develop our student leaders for lives of service, both within and beyond the school community. This in turn encourages a commitment to mission, again both within and beyond the school community.

Our desire is for leadership development in the Senior School to encourage a culture of service and mission amongst all staff, students and parents. In particular, students are given opportunities to become people of influence and develop relationships with staff, students and parents, through participating in acts of service to the community. These include aspects such as working in the school canteen, providing a valet service to assist younger students enter the school grounds and working with staff at school functions such as sporting carnivals.

Formal training components of the leadership program include public speaking seminars, leadership training days, weekly leaders’ meetings and mentoring. These all help to develop an understanding of effective leading and the knowledge that leadership is not something that happens due to position or title. Rather, leadership is something that is experienced through interaction with others.
